Medusa’s Muse accepts submissions from September 1 to May 31. Send all submissions in the body of an email to email@example.com. Do not send attachments, and do not send anything via “snail mail.” It will be returned unopened.
Include your contact info, a brief bio (why are you writing this story?), any writing credits (we work with unpublished authors, so don’t let that stop you from submitting), a summary of the book, and the first three chapters. Please only send completed work that has been carefully edited.
We try to respond to all queries within two months, but if you haven’t heard from us after two months, it’s okay to send a follow up email.
We do not pay an advance, instead we provide 30% of net sales to the author, paid twice a year, and we help with marketing and promotional materials. We work closely with you developing your book and making you the best author you can be.
Medusa is starting a YA fiction and non-fiction arm of the press that will publish e-books about kids and teens coping with a physical, emotional and/or environmental challenge. What do I mean by that? Read the blog post about what inspired me to start publishing for this group of kids. We accept unfinished book proposals for this project, but the proposal must include an outline and brief summary.
